Episode Five: Camp Spirit Lake, Shades of Death Road

"Camp Panther Lake, also known by locals as Spirit Lake or "Ghost Lake" (literally located just off "Shades of Death Road"), was built in 1929 in a remote section of forest near the historic Appalachian Trail and quickly became popular with campers. In the summer of 1971, the location earned an infamous reputation after three teenage counselors disappeared and their bodies were gruesomely unearthed from shallow graves....." (from the MTV site)

In actuality.... friends, try to remember that MTV is in this for the ratings. This is first and foremost an entertainment show. Second, it's more an exploration of human behavior than real paranormal investigation. In my opinion:

1.) The majority of what this episode of Fear states are New Jersey urban legends lumped together to make this one site seem more frightening. The location of this episode was filmed at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco which is hardly a dangerous haunted site. It's an active summer camp!

2.) The FBI has never, in all their years of investigations, found any evidence of ritual satanic murders.

3.) Use your brain! Fear is a great show that we all love, but don't believe everything you see.
